Arriva ticket prices go up
12:10, 22 November 2011
Bus giant Arriva is to put up its fares from December 4.
The firm, which blames rising fuel and other costs, has said most fares in the county will rise.
Single fares will go up by around 10p or 20p, with returns also on the increase.
A statement from the firm said day, weekly and four-weekly savers will be increased - apart from the Family Day Saver, which will be held at £13.
The Sheppey Plus Saver zone will be extended to cover the whole of the Sittingbourne zone, and out as far as Faversham, and will be renamed as the Swale Saver.
The Thameside Urban Saver will be renamed as the Thameside Saver and will be extended to include New Ash Green, South Darenth, Horton Kirby, Swanley, Crockenhill and Vigo.
The Sheppey Saver will be renamed the Sheerness Saver.
But the Happymax maximum Sunday and evening fare will no longer be available.
The Early Bird ticket - available in the Kent Thameside area - will be increased to £2.20.
There is no change to the price of ‘Kids go cheap’ fares, the Short-hop town centre fares, the Tunbridge Wells Shopper-hopper ticket or the price of Explorer Tickets.
