Baby boy dies after car crash at Challock

An eight-month-old baby has died in hospital following a car crash on Tuesday.

The baby boy was being treated at London’s Kings Hospital after a red Fiat Punto collided with a tree and overturned on Buck Street (A251) in Challock at 6.55pm.

He was originally taken to Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital before being transfered to Kings where died on Wednesday.

His mother, a 27-year-old woman from the Faversham area, who was driving, sustained minor injuries.

The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours while officers carried out an investigation and recovered the car.
