Baby suffers smoke inhalation
00:00, 25 January 2002
A BABY boy was taken to hospital this morning suffering from smoke inhalation after a small fire at his home in Margate. An electrical box caught alight at the flat in Hawley Square shortly before 7am.
Paramedics took the one-year-old and his mother to the town’s Queen Mother Hospital as a precautionary measure.
A Kent Fire Brigade spokesman said: “The fire was not serious, but in view of the little boy’s age we thought it was best he sought medical attention.”
