Bagpuss tops TV poll - but who's your favourite?
00:00, 17 April 2008
Cloth cat Bagpuss has been voted the favourite children’s TV animal of all time in an online poll conducted by the BBC.
More than 1,000 people took part in the survey, which saw Bagpuss beat other favourites such as Tom and Jerry, Winnie the Pooh and the Magic Roundabout team.
But do you agree? Where's Roland Rat? What's happened to the Wombles? And why no Rupert Bear?
Join the big debate on our Speak Out below.Peter Firmin, from Blean, who created Bagpuss with Oliver Postgate way back in the 1970s, said he was pleased that the cat still seemed to be loved by everyone.
But he added: “It was 35 years ago that we made him and it is all in the past. We have said everything we can about him and have moved onto other things.”
