Blaze toddler on the mend

MARGATE fire victim Levi Clifft is recovering in the specialist burns unit at East Grinstead in west Sussex. The five year old was rescued when the family home in Jennifer Gardens caught fire alight on January 11 but his four-year-old brother, Taylor, later died in hospital.
Levi has been visited by Jackie Cox, head teacher of Northdown primary school, Cliftonville, where both children were pupils. She said: “He was sitting up in bed, eating, when myself and our family liaison officer visited last Thursday. His class teacher Barbara Hunt visited him on Sunday ) and said he is doing well.”
The family lost their possessions in the fire, including presents given to Levi for his birthday on the day before the tragedy.
An appeal has been set up and donations to help the family can be made at the Millmead Neighbourhood Centre or the Northdown Community Project in Irvine Drive, Margate, or at Northdown primary school, Tenterden Way, Cliftonville.
