A dancing policeman has been doing his best to raise the spirits of drivers caught up in Operation Brock queues.

Footage of the Kent Roads Policing Unit officer energetically directing HGVs has been shared on Twitter.

The response from others was largely positive.

On Twitter, Melindi Scott said "He's excellent", while Arthur Drew added "Love it".

There was much praise from @SeanoSays, who said: "We normally only see this kind of happiness from the Americans. I wish he worked at my place."

Ray Johnson tweeted "Dedication" while Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent, Matthew Scott, responded with another one-worder, simply tweeting: "Brilliant."

And Kent Police RPU tweeted: "#BB #RPU1Sgt adding a bit of humour to a long day on #OpBrock yesterday.

"A small gesture which resulted in many smiles from lorry drivers and members of the public.

"Thanks for your patience and understanding. We wish you a safe onward journey through Kent."

Others took the chance to bemoan the fact the unpopular traffic management plan is in place.

Jules tweeted: "Yes even better if we didn’t have to put up with it !!"

Operation Brock has been put in place on the M20 between Junction 8 at Leeds Castle and Junction 9 at Ashford to manage the flow of cross-Channel lorries heading for Dover.

All other traffic has to use a contraflow with a 50mph limit, although the coastbound stretch between J8 and 9 has been shut to everything but freight during particularly busy periods.
