00:00, 31 August 2001
TWO bogus workmen robbed an elderly woman of £220 in Wellington Gardens at Margate.
The 73-year-old woman admitted the two men into her house after they knocked on the door and said they were plumbing in a washing machine next door and needed to turn the water off.
One man accompanied her through to the kitchen while the other entered her living room. When they had gone she found drawers opened and the money gone.
One man is described as white, in his early 20s, around 5ft 9ins tall, and of slim in build. The other man is white, in his late 20s. He was wearing a grey top.
