Vote on Boris Johnson's Brexit deal delayed after MPs back Letwin amendment

Boris Johnson's Brexit deal will not be voted on today.
Some 322 MPs, a majority of 16, backed an amendment tabled by the Conservative Sir Oliver Letwin requesting Britain's departure from the European Union be delayed until the relevant legislation is passed.
The Prime Minister told the House of Commons he would not negotiate an extension with the EU and insisted the country would still leave by October 31.
A significant number of Kent's MPs had earlier indicated they would be backing Mr Johnson's deal and all 16 of the county's Conservative representatives voted against the amendment this afternoon.
Labour MP for Canterbury, Rosie Duffield, voted in favour of the amendment.
