Broadstairs gets the blues -- and loves it
15:01, 19 February 2010
It's Bluestacular - spurred on by the success of the 2009 event, the Broadstairs Blues Bash team return with a programme of great music for the town.
Organiser Nigel Feist said: "Since last year we had bands e-mailing us from America and Russia, although in all fairness I don't I think they were all entirely sure where Broadstairs is."
Among the six bands playing tonight at various venues are the Marbletones from Holland. There's more music tomorrow, Saturday, from 2pm and in the evening at Broadstairs Pavilion, supporting Broken Biscuit, is Sam Kelly's Station house.
Tickets for the Saturday night bluestacular are £10 each and are available from the Harbour Street venue. On Sunday there is a free blues jam at midday in the Pavilion -- be there if you fancy having a go yourself with many of the artistes featured over the weekend. Nigel added: "It's a great chance to talk to some of the performers at the festival and work on any apologies that might be required."
