The Bexley Extra has increased its support of the popular gardening competition by sponsoring the Business/Public Premises and put up the full page article as the prize for the winning business.
Community Editor Julia Walsh said: "We've supported the competition for the last two years and wanted to increase our involvement this year.
"Many people spend hours tending their gardens at home but we wanted to encourage more businesses in the borough to add a splash of colour to the shopping parades and town centres.”
In the gardening world things are only just waking up after the winter, and with a closing date of June 15 for entries, there's plenty of time to get your premises ready for the judging in July.
It doesn't matter what line of business you are in, you could be a pub, restaurant, hairdressers, butchers or even a local solicitor.
In entering the competition, you'll also be helping the borough in its quest for gold in the prestigious London in Bloom competition.
In 2006 Bexley was awarded a Silver Gilt in the prestigious competition but this year local In Bloom organisers want to go for the top award.
Judge Dave Thomas said: "We would particularly like to encourage our business community to join in the competition, whether you are a pub landlord, restaurant, hotelier or just have a few hanging baskets to the front of your shop we would welcome your involvement in both the Bexley and London in Bloom competition."
"It is hoped that with your help Bexley will improve on their 2006 Silver Gilt award and gain Gold in 2007."
