MORE than 100 No Airport at Cliffe campaigners braved the elements to view the area that would be devastated if airport plans go ahead.
The MV Princess Pocahontas left West Pier in Gravesend on Saturday to show a river view of the threatened estuary and its wildlife. Chris Simmons, better known to millions as DC Mickey Webb in ITV's popular TV series 'The Bill' joined the RSPB on the trip.
Chris, who grew up in Cliffe, is a determined No Airport At Cliffe campaigner. He said: "Each and every part of this unique Peninsula has special memories for me.
"I am helping the campaign wherever I can. Other key figures who joined the trip were Bob Marshall Andrews MP, Mark Avery (RSPB Director of Conservation) and Medway, Gravesham and Thanet Youth Parliaments.
