A petrol head who has spent £30,000 modifying his pride and joy has won best car in show at a national competition.
For seven years, Jason Farrow has been working on his 1992 Nissan 300 ZX twin turbo.
And his efforts paid off when he beat thousands of other entrants to win best car in show at the Japanese Auto Extravaganza.
The three day event, which is the largest Japanese modified car show in England, took place last weekend at Wicksteed Park in Kettering.
Mr Farrow, of Abbeyview Drive, Minster, describes his car, which is nicknamed The Beast, as something out of The Fast and The Furious (a series of street racing films).
This is not the first time Mr Farrow has been a winner at the Japanese Auto Extravaganza - three years ago he won best Nissan.
The grandad-of-four is a member of the 300 ZX club, which is how he got involved with the competition - clubs throughout the country put forward their best cars for different categories.
Mr Farrow, who works as a manager at a home improvements company, said in the modifying world £30,000 is actually not that much money.
For winning best in show, he won a trophy - and the honour of the title.
Mr Farrow, 41, said: "It was a nice surprise to win.
"I thought it was strange I didn't pick anything up in the best Nissan category but then I was told to hang around - I had no idea I was going to get best car in show. It feels excellent.
"When I'm preparing for a competition I can be stuck away in the garage for up to 15 hours at a weekend working on it - it drives my wife bonkers."
