Some 700 jobs and 150 apprenticeships were offered at a second highly successful Thanet Jobs Fair organised by the Isle’s two MPs.
One job seeker even secured a job in the first half-hour at the Margate Winter Gardens event.
It was opened by Employment Minister Mark Hoban, escorted by MPs Sir Roger Gale and Laura Sandys.
Mrs Sandys said: “This year’s fair is one of the largest in the country in terms of the number of job and apprenticeship opportunities available for those attending.
“The feedback has been extremely positive and I am glad that we were able to build on last year’s success by offering even more jobs. We also managed to attract a very diverse array of employers from the area.
The event was sponsored by local firms Discovery Park, Fujifilm Specialist Ink Services, Pfizer and Your Leisure.
