Charlie Lee enjoying captaining Gillingham side

Charlie Lee was honoured to be named Gillingham skipper at Dagenham on Saturday and hopes he gets the chance again.
The midfielder (pictured) led the side in the Capital One Cup win at Bristol City when Martin Allen suggested it was only for one game, but the manager handed the role back to him on Saturday.
Lee said: "The gaffer pulled me in at training on Friday, and said he had been happy with the way I have started in pre-season, and as Danny (Kedwell) wasn’t playing I was going to be captain.
"It’s a real honour and I enjoyed it, but it was a tough match, and they made it very hard for us, but we got a result."
He believes the effort put in during a tough pre-season is now being rewarded.
"We looked at the early fixtures and definitely thought we could get four wins and have gone out and done it," he said.
"The clubs we have played are no mugs, we have beaten good teams. Bristol City have won their last two home games, and Bradford as well.
"We have had to dig in at times, but have done that and won."
