Chatham Town's switch to Ryman League Division 1 North confirmed
11:01, 22 June 2010
Chatham's place in Division 1 North was confirmed at the Ryman League's annual meeting last weekend.
Although Chatham made representations to be moved back to the South division, the proposed constitution was approved, meaning Paul Foley's men will make trips to Essex and Hertfordshire rather than Kent and Sussex for their away games.
Foley told Chatham's website: "I made it quite clear when I took the job on that whatever league we were put in our squad would be ready for the challenge of Ryman Division 1 football.
"The club will undoubtedly be disappointed not to have the local derbies, which are an important part of the club’s revenue stream.
"I will let the club comment on that as I am the football manager and whatever league we are put in, provided it has a Ryman in front of it, we are happy."
