Residents in the Scrapsgate area of Minster have been left fuming after almost 20 travellers' caravans moved on to a council-owned playing field.
Police and Swale council received several phone calls from people living near the Scrapsgate Road field, popular with sports clubs, a local school, dog walkers and horse riders, on Wednesday after the first caravans arrived the night before.
A resident, who preferred not to be named, said the caravans had parked close to his property and the noise from generators running during the day had spoilt a normally quiet neighbourhood.
