After the first case was confirmed in Kent earlier this week, presenter Louisa Britton will host a Q&A to provide the most up to date information on Covid-19 and what can be done to prevent it from spreading.

England's chief medical officer says the UK will probably see a 'significant' rise in cases within around six weeks.

Strood based GP, Dr Julian Spinks and Giedre Brandao, managing director of disease research firm AbBaltis in Sittingbourne, will be among those discussing the latest developments.

Topics discussed will include employment law after the Prime Minister announced changes to statutory sick pay. Boris Johnson told MPs in the Commons, nobody should be penalised for "doing the right thing" by self-isolating.

There was confusion yesterday when the Department of Health mistakenly said a second case had been confirmed in the county before a correction was issued by Public Health England.

It came as isolation pods started to be set up at hospitals to deal with any future cases while a government campaign has been launched telling us all how to wash our hands properly.

Washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds will help prevent the spread of the virus.

A KMTV spokesperson: "We decided to do this programme as the coming weeks and months could prove to be disruptive for our community here in Kent.

"It's a frightening time for some and we want to make sure everyone is getting the correct information, by a panel of experts answering important questions. We're hoping viewers will feel reassured after the show."

  • The programme will air tomorrow at 6.30pm on Freeview channel 7 and Virgin Media channel 159 and streamed live online.

If you have a question for the panel leave a message on KMTV's Facebook page.
