Highway gritters in Kent have told residents to expect 'wet snow' this afternoon.
Gritting Kent posted the weather alert on their Twitter feed today.
It said: "Heavy rain this afternoon accompanied by gusty winds.
"Rain will clear by midnight with clear skies allowing road surface temperatures to fall away the rest of the night with the risk of ice and hoar frost.
"A flurry of sleet or wet snow possible preceding the rain this afternoon."
When asked by a resident on Twitter if the gritters will be out, the team replied: "Due to rain overnight we will be making a decision later on."
There are currently yellow weather warnings in place for snow and ice elsewhere in the country this weekend, but Kent has not been included in the Met Office's predictions so far.
It comes after names for the county's newest fleet of gritters were announced last month by Kent County Council, following a competition.
With 17 vehicles in total, favourite names included celebrity puns including Spready Mercury, Hans Snowlo, Usian Salt and Gritty Rascal.
