A Danley Middle School pupil had a big shock on her last day of term.
Courtney Rowe, of Scotchmen Close, Halfway, managed to win a county-wide competition for a limousine ride to school.
Thirteen-year-old Courtney entered Invicta FM’s 'Cool to School’ competition on Monday evening when she got home from school.
On Tuesday, the radio station phoned Courtney’s mum to let her know she had won, but to keep it a secret.
Then on Wednesday morning, Courtney’s last ever day at the Halfway Road school, she got a surprise phone call from the station to tell her that she had won – live on air.
Courtney’s mum, Tracey Harrold, said: “She was absolutely stunned and there were tears in her eyes.
“She was so shocked – it was lovely to see her face and a nice end to the term.
“There were queues of kids at the school who wanted to have a look at the car – they loved it.”
