A multi-vehicle crash caused long delays on the M2 tonight.
Fire crews and paramedics were sent to the scene, between junction 5 (Sittingbourne) and Junction 6 (Faversham), at around 3.50pm.
One of the cars involved is said to have spun and struck the crash barriers.
It has caused traffic to back up to junction 4 (Gillingham) and had a knock-on effect on the A249 and Stockbury Roundabout.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South east Coast Ambulance Service were called to the scene."
There were also delays on the London-bound carriageway approaching the crash.
Highways officials say all lanes reopened at around 5.15pm, but warned of "residual delays".
Police were also called to a crash on the Stockbury Roundabout involving a car and a lorry.
Officers were joined by the fire and ambulance service just after 5.45pm.
