Daff is advance Easter treat
00:00, 21 March 2002
YOUNG gorillas at Howletts Wild Animal Park were given an early taste of Easter when they were offered miniature chocolate eggs - but 18-month-old Ama seemed to prefer a daffodil.
Ama and Kiba, Western lowland gorillas were hand-reared by foster mum Lorna Warless, at the park at Bekesbourne, near Canterbury. Easter at Howletts starts on Friday, March 29, and runs until April 1 with egg hunts in which children have to complete a quiz.
Face painters will be turning youngsters into tigers and other animals and keepers will be giving talks at enclosures every day at 2.30pm.
