Danny Kedwell to retain Gillingham penalty-taker role
09:06, 09 November 2011
Danny Kedwell is Gillingham’s first-choice penalty taker but boss Andy Hessenthaler says he does not care who takes the spot-kicks.
Jo Kuffour became the fourth Gills player to score from the penalty spot this season in the 4-3 win over Northampton.
But Kedwell was back in the role in stoppage time when he scored from the penalty spot.
"They are grown-up boys," said Hessenthaler. "I don’t need to talk to them about that.
"Kedwell is the penalty taker. Jo picked it up, he made it himself and he was confident."
