BRANDS HATCH have retained their traditional early August date for the hosting of the World Superbike Championship.

This year’s event will be staged from August 4-6 as round eight of the series returns to the Kent circuit.

More than 100,000 fans flocked to Brands during last year’s race, where eventual champion Troy Corser finished with a win and a second place, and tickets are expected to sell quickly once again.

British hopes will rest with James Toseland, who rides for Ten Kate Honda.
