Inspirational disabled sailor Hilary Lister is making the final preparations for her latest adventure.

The Dunkirk Lions Club member is restarting her Round Britain Dream in which she aims to become the first disabled woman to sail solo around the country.

Hilary's dream of sailing around Britain began in June 2008, when she set off from Dover, supported by her team of four support boat crew and three land crew.

After sailing the entire length of the south coast, however, poor weather forced Hilary and the team to reluctantly postpone the challenge.

Despite coming away from the attempt having sailed further than any other female disabled sailor, the determined 37-year-old vowed to complete what she set out to achieve.

Training for the latest voyage began on Friday in Dover. The attempt will again be at the mercy of the weather - but all being well she will set sail in her boat Me Too from Plymouth between May 18 to 22.

Hilary said: "I'm incredibly privileged to get a second chance to fulfil my dream. We have a fantastic team and I can't wait to get started.

"We will be raising money and awareness of disabled sailing right around the UK. Sailing came along when life didn't seem worth living any more."
