DRUNK driver Julian Bishop was today contemplating a sober birthday after being caught behind the wheel more than four times the legal limit.
Medway magistrates’ court chairman Reginald Hughes said it was one of the worst cases of drink-driving he had heard.
Bishop, who will be 36 tomorrow, drove through Medway after a drinking session. He was caught when he crashed his Daewoo in Forge Lane, Gillingham, just before 8pm on Wednesday.
Police officers carried out a roadside breath test. The reading showed Bishop had 156mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
Bishop, of Norman Close, Wigmore, Gillingham, pleaded guilty. He will return to the court for sentencing on Wednesday, January 8. He is not permitted to drive between now and his next court appearance.
