Dumped tyres anger villagers
12:00, 21 February 2008
A LORRY-LOAD of tyres was dumped on a busy rural road near Leeds Castle today.
The mound of tyres in Penfold Hill, Leeds, near Maidstone was the second large fly-tipping incident in recent weeks.
On Saturday, February 9, builders' rubble and old radiators were dumped in nearby Greenway Court Road.
Hollingbourne resident Peter Lurcock said: "That was bad enough, but this latest tipping is outrageous. It's just so flagrant. I'm fuming."
Maidstone council acted quickly and removed the dumped tyres.
