A PATIENT who escaped from a psychiatric hospital has been detained.

Jacksy Maboso, 20, absconded from a secure unit at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, Beckenham, on Saturday night.

Another two patients, also detained under the Mental Health Act, fled as well but were returned within 24 hours.

Maboso - who police warned could have posed a threat to the public - was detained by an off-duty policeman at Wanstead Tube station at about 1.45am this morning.

He has now been transferred to Broadmoor psychiatric hospital in Berkshire.
