With life in Kent slowly getting back to normal following the Covid-19 pandemic, a Nobel prize-winning biologist has urged everyone to start wearing facemasks.
Venki Ramakrishnan has spoken out saying their absence during this time should be as socially unacceptable as drink driving or not wearing a seatbelt.
New research has also shown that if just half of people wore face coverings when outside the house, that alone would be enough to keep the R rate under 1.
So with such strong advice and scientific evidence in addition to impressively low coronavirus deaths emerging from Japan - where wearing a face covering in public is general practice - our KMTV reporter wanted to conduct her own test.
Video journalist Katya Fowler has attempted to replicate the results with her own home experiment.
She first coughed on an agar plate with no mask, then with a mask, and finally from a meter away with no mask.
You can discover the remarkable results in this video.
