A campaign has been launched to encourage 100 firms to step up exports.
KIB 100 will be a select group of businesses across Kent and Medway given special help and advice about international trade.
The campaign was unveiled at Kent International Business (KIB) at B2B 2013, the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce expo held in Ashford International Hotel.
Steve Samson, of Kent County Council's trade development department, urged businesses to sign up.
Mr Samson said that every business doing so would receive a visit from a specialist and there would also be opportnities to learn from successful exporters.
"How can we help to make your export activity grow?" he said.
"We know the percpetion is that there are not enough exporters in Kent but I and our partners know there are some fantastic companies out there.
Mr Samson added: "We know there are some good stories and we want to shout about them and encourage other companies to follow suit." Suitable companies must have an exportable product or service, be active in intrenational markets or be keen to enter those markets."
Interested companies should register at email international.affairs@kent.gov.uk
