Parents of a 20-year-old twin have paid tribute to their daughter after her sudden death.

Charlotte Davey, from Walderslade, suffered from a heart defect from birth but did her best to enjoy life to the full.

Surgeons had carried out a series of operations over the years, including one when she was 17 which, it was hoped, would allow her to lead a normal life.

But she was taken ill last month and died in hospital. Her father Dermot said: “She had her first operation on her heart the day she was born.

“When we told the nurses she was a twin, they told us to go and get her sister to lay next to her, as soon as Joanna touched Charlotte she opened her eyes.

It was a very special moment. The closeness they shared from the beginning carried on throughout their lives.”

Mr Davey said: “Charlotte’s attitude was always positive and she would say 'these things happen, it is no one’s fault’.”
