Fire crews tackled a blaze at a large disused factory in Larkfield in the early hours of this morning.
Around 20 firefighters from four stations were called to contain the blaze which broke out at an empty factory in New Hythe Lane at about 1am.
Building material within the premises, which is due to undergo demolition, is believed to be the source of the fire which took just under an hour to contain.
Crews from Larkfield, Maidstone and Borough Green attended with a specialist height vehicle called in from Medway to assist. Crews from Medway and Strood were called to provide cover for the stations who attended.
The empty building is said to have suffered extensive damage. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but police were not requested to attend.
