Fit again Gillingham defender Andy Frampton aiming for a quick return

Andy Frampton is determined to get back involved with Gillingham after proving he is fit and ready to go during a midweek reserve outing.
The 32-year-old defender had a run-out on Tuesday afternoon and is now keen to get back involved with the first team after missing the last seven games with an ankle injury.
Frampton (pictured) said: "I played about an hour to get the cobwebs off and it (the ankle) felt good afterwards. There were no side effects so I was pleased.
"I am itching to get back in the team but I know I will have to wait just like everyone else does – that’s just part of the game.
"You need to make sure you are fit and ready for when you are asked.
"I wouldn’t expect to be (straight back in) but I will certainly be knocking on the door when I feel right and fit and ready to go and make a difference to the team.
"Last weekend might have been a bit too early but now I have got a few days’ training behind me and 60 minutes on the field, I am desperate to go."
Frampton rolled his ankle after landing awkwardly in the game against Southend on February 13. He returns to fitness facing a fight for his place after some of the club’s fringe players stepped up to fill the void, including Connor Essam and Callum Davies
Frampton has watched from the sidelines in recent weeks as the Gills put themselves back in with a chance of promotion and he knows they need to keep the pressure on.
"There is a good positive feeling in the camp," he added. "I don’t think it has ever not been there, I just think the best way of counter-acting any bad feeling in the changing room is to get a win."
