The Environment Agency has put 17 flood alert's in place for the south east including the Upper River Medway and River Eden. The advisory urges households to be prepared for flooding, the lowest level of the Agency's Flood Warnings.

The system categorises risk in three phases;

Severe Flood Warning, where there is a danger to life.

Flood Warning, flooding expected and immediate action required.

Flood Alert, be prepared for flooding which is possible.

The Met office has indicated rain throughout Sunday, with warnings that outbreaks of heavy and sometimes thundery rain could result in surface water flooding and cause disruption to travel and outdoor activities.
