Welling v Weston-super-Mare

Welling manager Andy Ford has urged the club's supporters to remain positive ahead of Saturday's Blue Square South clash with Weston.

The Wings claimed their first victory in nine games two weeks ago - at Bishop's Stortford in the league - and Ford wants them to push ahead.

"It's not all doom and gloom," said Ford, who sold full-back Craig Braham-Barrett to Peterborough this week.

"My glass is certainly half-full. We're five points off the play-offs having taken over a team fighting for relegation last year.

"We need to get things into perspective. The cup game has gone now and if people want to keep bringing that up then I won't be listening.

"I'd rather look forward and focus on the positives, and there are plenty of them."

Welling will field a depleted side against Weston following the departures of Sol Pinnock. Chris Nurse and Ryan Martin.

Orlando Smith, Dorian Smith and skipper Rob Quinn are all ruled out through injury although Ford is hoping to complete the signing of a striker by the weekend.

That deal may get held up through paperwork but the Wings boss has also put in seven days' notice of approach on an experienced player - and is hoping to bring in three playrs by the time Welling host St Albans on Tuesday.
