Former Charlton Athletic youngster Joe Carter joins League 2 Gillingham until the end of the season

Teenage defender Joe Carter has been signed by Gillingham on a deal until the end of the season.
Carter (pictured), 18, was released by Charlton after serving his youth scholarship at The Valley.
He has been on trial at Gills and has featured in a number of reserve outings, including last week’s defeat at Fulham.
Boss Andy Hessnthaler has handed him a pro deal now to see more of the promising left-back.
"He is a first year pro and we will see where we go at the end of the season," said Hessenthaler.
"He has a nice left foot, is good on the ball and he is an intelligent player, not the biggest, but he looks promising and is still young."
