Former Gillingham captain Michael Flynn has been released by manager Martin Allen after his trial

Gillingham manager Martin Allen has decided against offering former captain Michael Flynn a contract at Priestfield.
The midfielder went along with the Gills to their training base at Le Touquet in France.
Flynn (pictured) is looking for a club after being released by Bradford City at the end of last season.
But Gills boss Allen won’t be adding him to his squad, saying: “I had a chat with Michael and he did do very well and he completed all of the training sessions but I have decided not to take him on.”
The Welshman was signed by Gills’ former manager Stan Ternent in 2005 and he spent two seasons at Priestfield.
He became a fans’ favourite at Priestfield and skippered the side during his last season but opted to leave and join Blackpool at the end of the 2006/07 campaign. He made a total of 105 appearances for Gillingham and scored 21 goals.
The Gills have, meanwhile, been heavily linked with a move for Altrincham forward Damian Reeves. The striker has scored 63 goals from 79 starts over the last two years - including 44 last season in the Blue Square Bet North.
