Two players from last season’s Gillingham squad will line up in the Scottish Premier League when it kicks-off on Saturday.
Former Gills defender Simon King (pictured) sealed a deal with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Wednesday – the day his contract at Priestfield ended – while former loan striker Rowan Vine has joined St Johnstone.
Both will start the new season in Scotland this weekend.
King, a former Gills player-of-the-year during their 2009 promotion campaign, officially signed for Inverness on Wednesday after his contract at Priestfield expired.
He was relishing the challenge ahead of a trip to St Mirren and tweeted: “Very happy and got the football buzz back.
“Fresh start and new challenge and can’t wait to test myself in the SPL.”
Former loan striker Vine, who ended the season with the Gills, joined St Johnstone following his release by QPR.
