Former Notts County goalkeeper Stuart Nelson is on Gillingham manager Martin Allen's radar

Gillingham boss Martin Allen is monitoring former Notts County goalkeeper Stuart Nelson.
There is uncertainly over the Gills’ own goalkeeper department with Paulo Gazzaniga being tipped for a move away from Priestfield and Ross Flitney suffering with an injury.
Director of football Andy Hessenthaler revealed last week that Flitney may not be fit to start the season, after suffering a reaction to the injury which he picked up during the previous campaign.
Nelson, who has played for Brentford, Leyton Orient, Norwich and Aberdeen, worked under Allen at County last season and the two men are understood to be close off the field.
He was also Brentford's first-choice keeper under Allen (pictured) as the London club twice made the play-offs, in 2005 and 2006.
The goalkeeper played 52 games for the Magpies last season as they narrowly missed out on a play-off place in League 1.
Keith Curle, who took over from Allen midway through last season at the County Ground, decided, however, against offering the 30-year-old a new deal.
Allen said: "He would be someone we could be interested in but there are hundreds we are looking at. He would be on the list because Stuart is a very good goalkeeper."
Gills' third choice keeper, Daren Hawkes, is likely to depart on loan at the start of the season.
Hessenthaler said: "Mark Patterson (development manager) will try and find placements for him and others at different clubs in the county. A few went out last season and I think it will be the case again."
