Further inspection but play unlikely
14:32, 08 May 2004
MATCH umpires David Constant and Barrie Leadbeater planned a 4pm inspection at a damp and miserable St Lawrence.
Heavy overnight rain left the outfield remained sodden at a 2pm inspection, leaving the officials with little option but to try again in two hours time.
But cold, overcast conditions and the lack of any significant wind to dry the ground, meant prospects for any play on this the second day of four remained bleak.
Some 15 wickets fell on day one, as Gloucestershire reached 127 for five in reply to Kent's 129 all out.
