Gillingham chairman Paul Scally astounded at early season ticket sales

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally has praised the fans who have shown their support despite watching their team miss out on promotion again.
Season ticket sales for the 2012-13 campaign have gone well, according to the chairman, for what will be another season in League 2.
Mr Scally (pictured) said: "The season ticket sales have astounded me that they have been so good.
"We survive on the back of the fact that we have got a tremendous fan-base that is loyal to the club and does understand what we are trying to do. If we didn’t have that, we would be dead in the water.
"There are going to be a number of clubs who go into administration over the next two years and we have to make sure we are not one of them.
"We have worked hard to get our finances straightened up and have no bank debt now whatsoever.
"The stadium is back with the club and fans should be happy with that but, of course, they also want to see us progress and that’s what I’m disappointed we aren’t doing at the moment."
