Gillingham forward Luke Rooney looks set to join League 2 rivals Swindon Town

Gillingham have agreed to sell Luke Rooney to League 2 rivals Swindon Town.
Rooney (pictured) is now free to discuss a contract with Swindon to take him to the County Ground immediately.
The 21-year-old forward had been offered an extended contract by Gillingham in November but refused to sign.
That prompted the Gills to axe Rooney from the first team squad and only recently has he returned to action, albeit from the substitutes’ bench.
He is a product of the Gills’ scholarship programme and because he is under the age of 24 any club hoping to sign him in the summer would still have to pay compensation.
The player has made 61 appearances for the Gills and scored six goals.
Rooney has been a target for Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio ever since impressing when the two teams met at the end of October.
The two sides meet again on April 21 at Priestfield.
