Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler wants his side to be ready mentally and physically for Macclesfield Town game

Andy Hessenthaler won’t be taking anyone along for the ride this weekend ahead of a physical test at Macclesfield.
The Gillingham manager only wants players who are ready for the battle and has warned that anyone not showing total commitment on Saturday will be dropped.
Hessenthaler (pictured) wants his team to show the same desire which helped knock Leyton Orient out of the FA Cup last weekend.
He said: "It’s not going to be easy and if we are not right mentally and physically, we are going to come unstuck. It’s roll your sleeves up time.
"You have to have the right mentality and the right attitude when you go up to these places to get results. If we haven’t got that and there are a couple of players who are not right, then they won’t play, simple as that."
Midfielder Chris Whelpdale should be available for Saturday's game after recovering from illness but club captain Matt Lawrence is a major doubt with a knee injury.
*Gillingham will play Rotherham on Tuesday, February 21 at Priestfield (KO 7.45pm). The original game was scheduled for January 7, but that is the date for the FA Cup meeting with Stoke. Click here for a list of Gills' fixtures and results.
