Gillingham player admits drink-driving

GILLINGHAM FC striker Marlon King pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and without insurance when he appeared before magistrates at Camberwell Green in London. King, 21, of Peckham, London, admitted the offences which occurred in Ardwell Road, Streatham, on September 23.
King's reading was 51mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35. The case was adjourned until January 3.
Committal proceedings against King on a charge of assault, causing actual bodily harm, were also adjourned until January 3. He was granted bail.
