Welling left-back Jack Obersteller has returned to the club after Gillingham ended his trial at Priestfield.
Obersteller (pictured) trained with the Gills last week and played 45 minutes in a pre-season friendly at Bromley on Saturday.
But Welling boss Jamie Day has confirmed that the player is now back at Park View Road after Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler decided not to pursue his interest.
"Jack spent the week with them and played against Bromley but Gillingham told him afterwards that they've got two left-backs already and so he is back with us now," said Day.
Do you think Obersteller would have ben a good signing for Gillingham? Have your say below.
