Charlie Lee is expected to make a return to Gillingham’s starting line-up for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Stoke.
Lee, pictured, was on the bench for Monday's win over Aldershot, and is likely to return to right-back although boss Andy Hessenthaler revealed that he could even fill the void left by suspended left-back Joe Martin, who misses the next two games.
Hessenthaler said: “I thought about starting him (Lee) on Monday but I stayed loyal to the team because we had done ever so well while Charlie had been suspended. It was difficult to leave anyone out.
“Charlie can play left-back, that’s no problem. He has already spoken to me about that before I could get out of the changing rooms on Monday.”
Hessenthaler could also play captain Andy Frampton at left-back and move Matt Lawrence back into the middle alongside Garry Richards.
Matt Fish remains out with an ankle injury but Dennis Oli returns after missing Gillingham’s last game with flu. Luke Rooney is back after suspension and will be in the 18-man squad.
