Gills soccer star denies driving offences

GILLINGHAM footballer Marlon King today pleaded not guilty to three driving charges when he appeared before Camberwell magistrates in London. Mr King, 21, of Surrey Road, Peckham, denied charges of taking a car without consent, driving with excess alcohol and driving with no insurance in Ardwell Road, Streatham, on September 23 this year.
He indicated at an earlier hearing a not guilty plea to a charge of causing actual bodily harm to a plain clothes police officer in Ardwell Road on the same date. Mr King is due to appear before the court again on December 20 for commital to Crown Court where he will face trial on all the charges. He was granted bail.
