Goose comes in from the cold for a gander

The snow came as quite a surprise when it fell over much of Kent last week.
But a couple from Minster had an even bigger shock when they had a timely visit from a feathered friend.
Alan Tidbury and Lin Smithson live in a house called Snowgoose, in Minster Drive, and were amazed to find a goose waddling up their drive on the first day of the snow last Monday.
The goose had walked up the road, and then out of all the houses in the road, chose to turn up the couple’s drive-way.
They were so amused by the coincidence, they felt they had to let us know.
Alan, 62, said: “It was a beautiful goose and was there for about 10 minutes.
“It walked up the middle of the road, and then turned up our drive. It was a lovely bird.”
Lin, 57, added: “We phoned the RSPCA and they thought it was a wind up because it was such a coincidence.
“I’ve got no idea where it came from, but I think it must have been a pet because he just walked over to me and at bread out of my hand.”
