You wouldn't expect to see a gritter on a glorious day like today, but it's been confirmed they are out in force.
But there's no need to dust off the shovel and de-icer just yet, as the vehicles are merely carrying out a "dry-run".
In preparation for winter, grit lorries are practicing which routes they will take when icy conditions eventually do hit.
The county council has 60 gritters and more on standby in case of an emergency.
They salt main roads across Kent as a precautionary measure to make driving conditions safer.
