TOMMY Walsh, from BBC television’s Ground Force programme, will officially open Thanet College’s East Kent Building Trades School at midday on Monday.

The centre at Hornet Close, Broadstairs, aims to provide young people aged between 16 and 24 with a purpose-built trades training facility where they can study for a career in the construction industry.

It will be funded by the Learning and Skills Council, South Kent College’s Construction centre of vocational excellence and Thanet Action Team for Jobs.
