American football has become increasingly popular on this side of the pond.

This weekend sees the Super Bowl take place - one of the world's biggest sporting events - where the two best teams in the NFL battle to be crowned "world champions".

With the game just around the corner, there is be no better time to fill you in on everything you need to know about this year's final.

1) When is it?

People wanting to tune in to watch Super Bowl LII - the 52nd time it has been held - will have to stay up late. Kick off is not until about 11.30pm on Sunday, February 4.

2) Who is playing?

Last year the New England Patriots made an incredible comeback from 28-3 down in the third quarter to beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime. This year, the champions return to play the Philadelphia Eagles.

3) Where are they playing?

The players will take to the field at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which has a capacity of more than 66,500, and people from across the globe will be tuning in to watch them.

4) Where can I watch it?

If you're going to stay up late and watch it then you have a few options. Coverage on the BBC will start at around 11.15pm on BBC One. You will also be able to catch it on Sky Sports Main Event for those with a subscription. You should be able to catch blogs over the internet documenting every move the players make.

5) Where can I take part myself?

If you're interested, there are several teams in Kent where you can try American Football yourself. Check out the Kent Exiles, Maidstone Pumas and East Kent Mavericks.

6) What will the entertainment be like?

Pink will be stepping out and performing the US national anthem before the game. The half-time show will be headlined by Justin Timberlake. The spectacle usually lasts about a 15 minutes during the extended half-hour break.
